In daily life, we hear more about turbine flow meter, electromagnetic flow meter, etc., but how much do you know about mass flow meter? Next, the editor will talk to you about the working principles of mass flow meter and how to choose the right one?
Mass flow meters utilize the Coriolis principle. That is to say, the phase difference of the vibration frequency of the lower half of the measuring tube is measured in proportion to the mass flow rate, and the density is obtained by using the functional relationship between the resonant frequency of the measuring tube and the medium density of the measuring tube. The volume flow qv (=QM/e) is derived from the two basic parameters mass flow QM and density. The measured liquids are two mixed liquids with a certain density difference.
It can be seen from the principle that mass flow meter in the flow measurement industry can generally directly measure the mass flow rate of fluid media without compensating through other parameters. Its characteristic is that it can directly measure the mass flow rate of the medium, and factors such as pressure and temperature of the working state of the medium have no effect on it.
Mass flow meter is a novel instrument that directly and precisely measures fluid mass flow. Its mass flow meter classification is as follows:
1. Direct: that is, the amount proportional to the mass flow rate is directly detected, and the detection element directly reflects the mass flow rate.
2. Derivation: Use an instrument combined with a volume flow meter and a density meter to measure the mass flow, detect the volume flow and fluid density at the same time, and obtain the output signal related to the mass flow through calculation.
3. Compensation: Detect the volumetric flow rate of the fluid and the temperature and pressure values of the fluid at the same time. Based on the relationship between the fluid density and temperature and pressure, the calculation unit calculates the density value of the fluid in this state, and then calculates the mass flow value of the fluid.
There are so many types of flow meter on the market today, with different prices, and there are so many domestic and foreign brands that it's easy to get dazzled. So how should we choose a suitable mass flow meter?
1. Fluid type: Different flow meters need to be used for clear and mixed liquids, clean gases and mixed gases. For example, liquids are generally suitable for turbine flow meter, and for gases, electromagnetic flow meter are more often chosen. Of course, this is only the choice of most people, and is not certain. You can choose according to specific needs.
2. Flow range: The fluid flow range should be moderate and cannot exceed the measuring range.
3. Pipe size: For smaller pipe sizes, rotors, turbines and mass flow meter are generally used. For large pipe diameters, electromagnetic flow meter and ultrasonic flow meter are generally used. Some pipe materials are not suitable for electromagnetic and ultrasonic use.
