The DOWESTON DO-D160 digital fluorescence dissolved oxygen sensor
Fluorescence optical principle · Electrolyte-free · Maintenance-free · RS-485 Modbus RTU digital output
The DO-D160 measures dissolved oxygen using fluorescence quenching (optical method), eliminating the periodic membrane and electrolyte replacement of traditional polarographic sensors. Built-in temperature and barometric compensation keeps readings accurate at varying depths and climates. The fully digital RS-485 Modbus RTU output connects directly to PLC/DCS systems or DOWESTON multi-channel recorders. IP68 protection suits continuous submersed installation in wastewater aeration basins, aquaculture ponds and surface water monitoring stations.
Compared with traditional polarographic sensors, optical technology delivers a radically better maintenance experience and measurement reliability
Based on the principle that fluorescence quenching time correlates inversely with oxygen concentration. It consumes no oxygen, requires no stirring and is unaffected by flow. Faster response and better long-term stability than polarographic methods.
No electrolyte, no membrane replacement, no electrode polishing. The optical element is sealed behind a rugged sapphire window with no consumable parts — dramatically reducing field maintenance and lifetime cost.
High-precision NTC temperature and barometric pressure sensors continuously compensate for temperature changes and altitude/weather pressure variations that affect DO saturation — no manual calibration adjustments needed.
Starts measuring the moment it powers on — no polarographic-style warm-up wait. Factory multi-point calibrated and ready to use; only a simple annual air calibration or standard-solution check is needed.
Full stainless steel + POM housing with overall IP68 protection for continuous submersed installation in aeration basins, culture ponds, deep monitoring wells and any other water environment. Maximum working depth up to 60 m.
An optional mechanical wiper periodically cleans the optical window, preventing biofouling and sediment build-up — ideal for unattended long-term monitoring stations in eutrophic waters.
Core online DO monitoring needs across municipal wastewater, aquaculture and surface water environmental monitoring
Online DO monitoring in aeration basins precisely controls blower frequency and run time, meeting effluent targets while cutting aeration energy use by 25%~40%. IP68 design allows continuous submersion.
Online DO monitoring for fish ponds, shrimp tanks and RAS with automatic aerator control. The fluorescence sensor resists interference from suspended solids in high-density culture water for long-term reliable operation.
Online DO measurement at surface water auto-monitoring stations. Ultra-low power design suits solar-powered buoys; the optional self-cleaning wiper handles seasonal algae fouling.
Online DO monitoring in the aerobic biological stage of food, brewery, textile-dyeing and chemical wastewater. The stainless housing resists acid/alkali corrosion in complex industrial waters.
Raw-water DO monitoring at reservoir and lake intakes, combined with a multi-parameter platform for 24/7 source water surveillance and early warning.
Long-term continuous field DO data collection for water environment research. The open RS-485 Modbus protocol connects directly to third-party data loggers and monitoring systems.
