Submersible Level TransmitterMeasures to improve sealing performance

1. Core parts seals

Through the dismantling of the submersible liquid level meter used, it was found that there was only a rubber ring between the diffused silicon core and the core clamp for waterproofing, which was accidental. If water penetrates the O-ring, it will come into direct contact with the circuit board and eventually cause the sensor to fail. To solve this problem, it is recommended to add an O-ring to the diffused silicon core to reduce the chance of water seepage and improve its sealing performance. However, after market research, it was found that in actual production applications, the diffused silicon core used is standardized and difficult to process, so this solution is less feasible and can only retain the original design, which is a sealing ring. In order to improve the sealing performance of this part, in actual installation, based on the existing design, sealant is applied to the installation joint surface. Thus effectively achieving the purpose of waterproof sealing.

2. The diffused silicon clip of the plunge-type liquid level gauge is partially sealed with the sensor shell.

In the original design of the sealing structure of the input liquid level gauge, the sealing measure for the connection between the sensor diffusion silicon core clamp and the sensor shell is to use an O-ring for waterproofing and apply sealant to the threads. Through dismantling tests, it was found that this sealing method was not ideal and water seepage from the structure still occurred from time to time. To solve this problem, the design adds an O-ring, that is, two sealing rings, to the structure of the submersible liquid level gauge, and at the same time, sealant is applied to the contact surface. This solution greatly increases the effective sealing area and has obvious waterproof effect.

3. The terminal part at the rear of the transmitter is sealed.

The tail of the original sensor is sealed by superimposed V-shaped sealing rings. Since there are gaps between the sealing rings, the sealing effect is extremely poor. It was also discovered that water can penetrate into the two sealing rings after being immersed in water for a long time. Under the erosion of water, the sealing ring is obviously aged, and the service life of the sealing ring is reduced, aggravating the sealing failure there. To solve this problem, an integral threaded sealing ring is used at the end of the sensor. This improvement scheme not only increases the service life of the sealing ring, but also greatly enhances the sealing effect.
