Precautions for use of submersible liquid level gauge

The submersible level gauge uses a high-performance pressure sensor as the measuring element. The hydrostatic pressure that is proportional to the liquid level depth is accurately measured by the pressure sensor, and converted into a standard signal (current, voltage, digital) output, and a linear correspondence between the output signal and the liquid level depth (height) is established to achieve accurate measurement of the liquid depth. After understanding its working principle, in order to make the product more stable and reliable during use and achieve the best condition, let's take a look at the precautions for using the input liquid level meter.

Precautions for use of input liquid level gauge:

(1) For input-type liquid level meters, it is necessary to ensure that the junction box part of the liquid level meter is the same as the atmospheric pressure, so that the reference end of the sensor can feel the changes in atmospheric pressure and pressurize it at any time to achieve accurate measurement.

(2) The probe part of the submersible liquid level gauge should sink to the bottom of the container as much as possible. If there is sediment, sludge, agitation, etc. at the bottom of the container, lift the probe upward and treat the unmeasurable height from the probe to the bottom of the container as the measurement dead zone. The measurement dead zone can be supplemented and corrected through the upper display unit.

(3) Submersible liquid level gauges are usually calibrated with water before leaving the factory. When the density of the measured medium is close to that of pure water, it can be used directly; if the density difference is large, it must be notified in advance or calibrated on site.

(4) The viscosity of the measured medium should not be too high, otherwise it will affect the pressure perception at the pressure measuring port, thus affecting the measurement accuracy and sensitivity. In addition, the drip-type liquid level meter cannot be used in media that is prone to crystallization.

(5) Try to avoid air condensation in the air duct. When the temperature of the measurement medium is significantly different from the ambient temperature, the air duct lead should not be too long, otherwise condensation droplets will easily form in the air duct, which will affect the measurement and even damage the instrument. In this environment, keeping the junction box (wiring part) dry and ventilated is also a good way to prevent condensation.

(6) Do not seal the junction box with tape or plastic film. This will cause an imbalance between the ventilation cable and atmospheric pressure, produce condensation, and affect the measurement results. The simple and effective thing is to find a clean, dry salad oil or mineral water bucket (plastic bucket), cut off the nut on the upper part, pull the bucket back to the junction box, with the oil mouth facing the bucket downward, and then simply fix it. Can.

(7) When the submersible liquid level meter is installed outdoors, attention should be paid to lightning protection measures. Generally, UWPM drip-type liquid level meters cannot meet the lightning protection function, and an external lightning protection module is required to avoid damaging the back-end equipment.

(8) The probe should not be shaken frequently. Fixing the probe properly or fixing the protective tube with a sheath can extend the service life of the liquid level gauge.

(9) The cable cannot be knotted or coiled too tightly. Cables that are too long outside the container should be stored in large rolls to avoid direct sunlight and low temperature freezing. Direct sunlight will accelerate the aging of the cable, and low temperature freezing will cause the cable to crack and age.

(10) The ventilation cable of the submersible level gauge must not be reconnected intermittently. This kind of cable is a special cable, which is composed of strength reinforcement ribs, braided mesh shielding layer and ventilation cable. If there is an interruption in the middle, the cable is likely to break during use, thus affecting the use and measurement of the liquid level meter.
