Introduction to the effect of electromagnetic flow meter on slurry measurement:
In the field of slurry, the lining materials are mostly corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant engineering rubber and polytetrafluoroethylene plastic. Electromagnetic flow meter are used in slurry. However, the enhanced polytetrafluoroethylene developed in recent years has been widely used. It has excellent wear resistance, extrusion resistance, and corrosion resistance. It has good adhesion with the measuring tube and has no lining or falling off phenomenon. The induced potential signal generated by liquid flow is very weak and is greatly affected by various interference factors. The function of the converter is to amplify and convert the induced potential signal into a unified standard signal and suppress the main interference signal.
Electromagnetic Flow MeterAdvantages in pulp measurement
When the streamline distribution does not meet the set conditions, measurement errors will occur. Therefore, there must be a straight pipe cross-section of about 5 ≤ 10D in front of the electromagnetic flow meter to eliminate the influence of various local resistances on the symmetry of the streamline distribution. Due to the special physical properties of pulp, it is difficult to measure it. It contains more than 60% of ultra-fine ore solid particles, plus additives, and its dynamic viscosity is as high as 800x1500 MPa. S under high pressure conditions. The squeezing environment of the lining by the medium and the erosion of the electrodes require the adhesion properties of the electromagnetic flow meter sensor and measurement conduit, as well as the anti-noise and anti-leakage properties of the electrodes. In addition, pulp is a non-Newtonian fluid, and the designed pipeline flow rate is very low. About 1.0 meters/second, and it is highly corrosive. Through years of comparative experience in the operation of mining chemical plants, it has been proven that measuring the slurry flow rate with an electromagnetic flow meter is currently the only reliable method. "The installation location of the electromagnetic flow meter should be away from all magnetic source interference." The signal of the electromagnetic flow meter is relatively weak, only a few millivolts in the full range, and the flow rate is very small, only a few microvolts. External interference will affect the measurement accuracy. Therefore, the flow meter housing, shield wire and measuring conduit should be grounded. To set up separate connection points, do not connect the motor or upper and lower pipes.
Magnetic circuit system function of electromagnetic flow meter: Electromagnetic flow meter is mainly composed of magnetic circuit system, measuring conduit, electrode, shell, lining and converter. The function of the magnetic circuit system is to generate a uniform DC or AC magnetic field. Electromagnetic flow meter generally use alternating magnetic fields, and the function of the measuring conduit is to allow the conductive liquid to be measured to pass through. The measuring conduit must be composed of non-magnetic properties, low magnetic permeability, low thermal conductivity and certain mechanical strength. Stainless steel, fiberglass, high-strength plastic, aluminum and more are available. "The function of the electrode is to draw an induced potential signal that is proportional to the measured flow rate. The electrode is generally made of non-magnetic conductive stainless steel and must be kept level with the lining to avoid obstruction of the fluid flow path. Its installation position should be in the horizontal axis direction of the pipe to prevent sediment from accumulating on the pipe and affecting the measurement accuracy.
In the case of pulp, since high-voltage pulp scouring electrodes will produce signal noise, manufacturers with technical experience usually use low-noise electrodes to reduce scouring noise. The outer shell is made of ferromagnetic material and is the outer cover of the excitation coil to isolate the interference of external magnetic field. There is a complete electrically insulating lining on the inside of the measuring tube and on the flange cover.
