With the rapid development of science and technology, high and new technologies have been widely used in various industries. High-tech magnetostrictive liquid level sensors are used for liquid level measurement in various storage tanks. This liquid level meter has the characteristics of high precision, strong environmental adaptability, and easy installation. Therefore, it is widely used in the field of liquid level measurement in petroleum, chemical and other industries, and gradually replaces other traditional sensors and becomes a fine product for liquid level measurement.

In the refined oil distribution industry of PetroChina and Sinopec, most oil tanks use manual tank climbing and foot-throwing measurement. Use a metric steel tape to measure with a weight or a scale, manually record the readings, and manually look up the table to convert, and finally get the oil volume data. This measurement method is not only highly labor-intensive, but also has unsafe factors and cannot guarantee accuracy. In some places, capacitive/diffusion silicon pressure gauges are used for measurements. Due to the serious zero point drift of this kind of sensor, large measurement deviation, and poor long-term working stability, it is not popular among users. There are also places where isobaric membrane level gauges or mechanical float level gauges are used. However, because the membrane level gauge is greatly affected by temperature and has air leakage problems, the mechanical float level gauge often gets stuck on the steel belt, so it has not been widely used.

The advantages of using a magnetostrictive liquid level meter to measure oil tank liquid level are as follows:

1. Strong reliability: The magnetostrictive liquid level gauge adopts the waveguide principle and has no mechanical moving parts, no friction and no wear. The entire converter is encapsulated in a stainless steel tube and has no contact with the measurement medium. The sensor works reliably and has a long life.

Two. High precision: Since the magnetostrictive level gauge works under waveguide pulses, the measured displacement is determined by measuring the time of the start pulse and the end of the pulse during the working process. The measurement accuracy is high, the resolution is better than 0.01%FS, and other sensors are difficult to achieve accuracy.

Three. Good safety: The magnetostrictive liquid level meter has high explosion-proof performance, is intrinsically safe, and safe to use. It is especially suitable for the measurement of chemical raw materials and flammable liquids. There is no need to open the jar lid when measuring, avoiding the unhygienic nature of manual measurement.

Four. Magnetostrictive level gauges are easy to install and maintain: Magnetostrictive level gauges are generally installed through existing nozzles on the tank roof, and are particularly suitable for installation in underground storage tanks and operational storage tanks. This process does not affect normal production.

Five. Convenient system automation: The secondary instrument of the magnetostrictive liquid level gauge uses standard output signals, which is convenient for computer processing and network work, and improves the automation of the entire measurement system.
