The Roots flow meter is one of the most accurate devices for measuring gases so far. Everyone may know some of the advantages of Roots flow meters, such as: easy operation, simple installation, etc. However, although its installation is simple, we must also install it strictly.

Mounting Type
A. Vertical installation: When installed vertically, the gas inlet must be at the top, and the air flow flows from top to bottom, that is, in and out. Our company recommends that users use vertical installation as much as possible, which will help the rotor's self-cleaning ability against dirt.
B. Horizontal installation: When installed horizontally, the axis of the inlet and outlet of the flow meter should not be lower than the axis of the pipeline to prevent impurities in the gas from remaining in the flow meter and affecting normal operation. At the same time, the flow meter flange and the filter flange should be directly connected.
C. Regarding the flow direction: When installing on site, the installation should be according to the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the flow meter.
D. Regardless of whether it is installed vertically or horizontally, the rotor shaft in the sensor must be in a horizontal position.
Flow meter installation
A) There must be no strong external magnetic field interference or strong mechanical vibration around the flow meter. Before installation, the usage environment conditions should be reviewed according to usage requirements.
B) The flow meter should be hoisted correctly, and the safe load and protective measures of the hoisting equipment should comply with relevant regulations. It is strictly prohibited to tie the rope with a rope to lift the flow totalizer.
C) A qualified filter of corresponding specifications must be installed upstream of the flow meter and cleaned regularly. Practice has proven that installing appropriate filters is an effective way to reduce failures and extend the service life of flow meters. To facilitate maintenance, the filter should be equipped with a differential pressure gauge.
D) When installing the flow meter outdoors, the upper part should be covered to prevent rain erosion and hot sun exposure from affecting the service life of the flow meter. The installation site should have sufficient space for inspection and maintenance.
E) In order not to affect the normal delivery of fluid, a bypass pipeline can be installed. The bypass pipe valve must be closed tightly during normal use.
F) The flow meter should be installed coaxially with the pipeline and prevent sealing gaskets and butter from entering the inner cavity of the pipeline.
G) When installed in an explosion-proof location, the flow meter must be reliably grounded, but it must not share the ground wire with the strong current system; during pipeline installation or maintenance, the ground wire of the welding system is not allowed to overlap the flow meter. Under any circumstances, the user is not allowed to change the model and specification of the circuit components of the explosion-proof system, the connection method, or arbitrarily change the lead interface. The outer diameter of the incoming cable is φ8mm ~ φ8.5mm. At the same time, the excess inlet hole should be blocked and the operation should be strictly in accordance with the relevant requirements of GB3836.1~2; when opening the front cover of the flow totalizer, the external power supply must be disconnected first.
H) When the flow meter is put into operation, the valve should be opened slowly and the flow rate gradually increased to avoid damage to the rotor in the sensor due to excessive impact of instantaneous air flow.
