How to choose a pipe segment ultrasonic flow meter?

Compared with other flow meters, pipe segment ultrasonic flow meters do not have complicated installation steps and any subsequent maintenance work. Therefore, users need to choose the appropriate one when choosing. The following editor will introduce to you the selection method of down-section ultrasonic flow meter.

1. Pipe diameter. Due to different pipe materials and wall thicknesses, the outer diameter of the pipe will be different, so when selecting, the diameter of the pipe-type ultrasonic flow meter is generally selected according to the inner diameter of the pipe.

2. Accuracy requirements. Pipe-type ultrasonic flow meter generally require level 1.0 for measuring common liquid media, such as tap water, seawater, sewage, etc. Measuring liquids with high economic value such as kerosene, lubricating oil, chemical raw materials, etc. generally require level 0.5 accuracy. High accuracy and high price are applicable, so there is no need to blindly choose high-precision products.

3. Requirements for the number of channels. The time-difference ultrasonic flow meter measures the velocity of the medium in a closed pipeline. The flow velocity of the medium at different levels in large pipelines will be different. Therefore, some measurement sites need to use multi-channel ultrasonic flow meters, such as two-channel ultrasonic flow meters and four-channel ultrasonic flow meters. Some typical process model projects even use sixteen-channel ultrasonic flow meters. For small-diameter pipelines, single-channel ultrasonic flow meters are sufficient for measuring some ordinary media. Multi-channel products are much more expensive.

4. Pipe length requirements. When choosing a pipe-type ultrasonic flow meter, pay attention to the flange-to-flange spacing, especially for pipes with reserved installation positions. If the position is fixed, it must be stated when ordering, otherwise the product may not be suitable. If it is a new pipe, you can purchase a flow meter first, and then the flange spacing on the pipe will be made according to the product position.

5. Pipeline pressure requirements. It just depends on the pipeline design requirements. The shell materials of the pipe-type ultrasonic flow meter selected for different pressure levels will also be different, and the prices will also be different.
