Background
The local water pattern monitoring bureau is required to monitor and predict water levels and prevent flooding. It uses various measurement points within the larger Troyes area.
Application Notes
We are going to use a Doppler current meter to measure the river flow velocity and install it under the bridge. It uses six sets of measuring probes (i.e. 12 probes) and a converter to measure flow. The distance between probes is approximately 15m, while the distance between embankments is up to 12m. The bridge has three pillars with two measurement groups (i.e. four probes/posts) on each pillar.

| The converter can be used for reliable and accurate measurement of any type of free surface flow. | Six pairs of probes are used to increase accuracy with six measuring strings. Each bridge column corresponds to four probes. |
Result
The measurement uncertainty is approximately 5%.
Advantages
Continuous measurement
Dynamic measurement
Repeatability
Multi-channel and multi-chord measurements (the sum of flow rates yields a total flow rate),
Accuracy over the flow range (from low water level to high water level).
