Lead-Free Pressure Sensor Technology: Features and Their Benefits
Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) Sensor – PN Junction-Free, Diffused Silicon Pressure Sensor
High Temperature Capability – Continuous operation at temperatures up to 1000°F (538°C).
Not sensitive to EMI – Devices without other active electronic components will operate in the 200 Volts/meter range.
Not sensitive to ESD
Single crystal pressure sensor
High Reliability – The sensor itself has a calculated MTBF of three million (3,000,000) hours.
No hysteresis
High Accuracy – Kulite pressure sensors' typical static error band – including nonlinearity, hysteresis and repeatability – is less than one hundredth of full scale (0.1% FS).
Lead-free sensor eliminates gold lead and associated mechanical joints
Resistant to shock and vibration
High temperature capability
Miniature pressure sensor
Small and lightweight – Sensor sizes range from.030 x.030 inches to.1 x.1 inches, allowing for ultra-small packaging.
Low sensitivity to vibration and acceleration effects – the very low mass of these ultra-small sensing elements translates into very high natural frequencies. The lower mass also makes them less sensitive to shock and vibration until they reach very high levels.
In addition, DOWESTON has developed and patented a new type of sensor that eliminates the impact of extremely high vibrations on the transducer output signal.
