Inside the FTM-1600 Measurement Mass Flow Meter you will find the following components:

As liquid enters the meter, the diverter distributes the flow evenly between the two tubes. The drive coil vibrates the tubes at their resonant frequency, causing them to move in opposite directions. As the tube vibrates in an arc about this axis, the inlet and outlet of the tube remain fixed. Two other coil and magnet assemblies, one at each end of the assembly, serve as sensors, producing a sinusoidal voltage proportional to the relative position of the two tubes. When there is no flow through the tube, the tube vibrates uniformly and the output signals from these coils are in phase.

As the liquid flows through the tube, the Coriolis force causes the end of the tube to deflect. The resulting vibrations are out of phase. This phase difference is used to determine the mass of liquid flowing through the tube.

Other measurements can also be obtained from mass flow meters. These include:
density
Total volume
Net volume
Temperature
specific gravity
